February 4, 2008

Swedish metallers IN FLAMES were honored in the "Best Swedish Live Act" and "Best Swedish Band" categories at the Bandit Rock Awards. The awards ceremony, which was organized and hosted by the Stockholm-based radio station Bandit Rock 106.3, was held this past Friday (February 1) at Tyrol in the Swedish capital.

Commented the band: "A BIG thank you to all of you who voted for us. It means a lot to us and we are really proud of these awards."

As previously reported, IN FLAMES spent the weekend of January 19-20 in Skellefteå, Sweden filming the video for their upcoming single, "The Mirror's Truth". Helmed by the Swedish company Popcore (NORMA JEAN, UNDEROATH, KHOMA, CULT OF LUNA),the clip was shot at an abandoned factory site.

Check out photos from the video shoot at Norra Västerbotten and Västerbottens Folkblad.

IN FLAMES recently inked a deal with Koch Records for the North American release of the group's new album, "A Sense of Purpose". Due on April 1 (April 7 in most of Europe via Nuclear Blast),the follow-up to 2006's "Come Clarity" was recorded at the band's own IF Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden and was mixed by Toby Wright (METALLICA, SLAYER). The group received assistance during the vocal-recording sessions from producer Daniel Bergstrand, who previously produced the vocals on "Reroute To Remain", "Soundtrack To Your Escape" and "Come Clarity". All artwork for the album was created by Alex Pardee for ZeroFriends. Alex also created the artwork for the first single, "The Mirror's Truth".
